So, have I missed it? Or has no one told Sam Grey that Tad is adopted, too? Why does he keep insisting that Tad is his blood? Family is family, and Tad is as much a Martin as anyone, so wouldn't that provide a good starting point for the parents who raised you are your family lecture?
I mean, there does seem to be a theme going on with this show. I hate like hell to admit that McCraphead has done anything right, but AMC really is all about families these days. Really. So much more so than OLTL or GH before I quit watching (unless you count The Family). Erica and Jack have pulled together the children of four biological mothers and five biological fathers into a remarkably tight family. Tad, Dixie, Brooke, and Adam had some bad moments but did an amazingly functional job of parenting JR and Jamie for a very long time. That's what makes the breakdown between those boys so heartbreaking. Phoebe did the right thing.
Ryan and his invisible talking family. Ethan and Zach. Maria and her kids. Sam, Maria, and the Martins. There are all kinds of ways to make a family, and conflict between or among people who love each other deep down makes for interesting soap. At least, I think so. I'm not saying McMayhem is perfect. But she does seem to get that the show is called All My Children.
