And not just as newbie props. I wish, wish, wish, Krystle and her magic boobs were nowhere near the Di-dixie story, but that's because she doesn't belong there (Brooke does). At least the story is about the vets and has major long-term ramifications.
I loathe Greenlee the man-stealer, but this, too, is a long-arc - really long if you consider its beginning Jack and Erica's attempts, separately and together, to create a family.
Oh, and one other thing, for the entire 30+ years Erica's been out of high school, she's had a job. An interesting job (except for that showgirl thing) that means something to her. Brooke, too. And Liza. And Mona. And Ruth. And Myrtle. And Marian. And Opal. Even Phoebe had her column. Now it's the same way for the young'uns. And no one even thinks about it.
Just an observation.
The thing with OLTL these days is that I never can keep up with what's going on. I watch IRT when I can for however long I can, and the stories are so fragmented and so subject to change and so centered around characters I do not know and do not care to know that I always feel adrift.
When I do know what's going on (e.g. with Crazy Fuglaret), I'm grossed out.
