You're my favorite pioneers. ;)

We tried that for a while when we first moved many moons ago, and yeah---we decided pretty quick that for the survival of the family, more than four channels was the only way to prevent violence, bloodshed, and general implosion. ;) Our video store sounds much like your experience---you're stronger souls than I!

On the other hand, every once in a while, that kind of video store experience brings you to stumble upon a gem you might never have looked at if the television was full of channels for everything from international sports to basketweaving---so there's a silver lining, plus, the rabbit ear thing because that is a gem worthy of a computer monitor spray---LOL!

(My mother used to come home from one of those video store forays all the time with something that 'well, we've never heard of it, but it has Jack Scalia---or insert some other little known actor that she took to for some reason---in it so maybe that's something' and we'd all groan in unison over something that would turn out to be a Lifetime movie in disguise.)
