I just rely on my sister who we refer to as The Walking TV Guide to tell me what it is I'm supposed to watch every night.

"Sue, what time do I need to turn on the TV tonight? For what? Oh, okay." If she fails to point it out, I miss it and am never the wiser.

The Andre Braugher show is called Thief, and you can find it on the FX network Tuesday night's at 10PM. The only bad thing about it is that I think it is already winding down on a very abbreviated schedule for this first season. I'm not even sure if it is set to run for the 13 episodes that most FX series tend to run, so you might find yourself watching it just in time for it to end until next Spring...which would be quite the bummer if you liked it.

I also wanted to ask you if you've ever tried The Shield, which also airs on FX (but is now on hiatus until its sixth and final season returns next January. *mourns*). When you mentioned "Homicide," it popped into my head after the fact that many say The Shield couldn't have existed without the previous---that it took a very similar vein, built upon it and then is allowed (thanks to the FX network which takes it away from your 'network tv rules') to take the intensity a little further.

Hmmmm...okay, a lot further. ;)

It is definitely not an easy show to watch 50% of the time, but I can't get over the genius of the writing (and the gritty, documentary style production) which has built upon itself since the first episode and is now bringing the show full circle to what will probably be its end.

I would highly recommend it to anyone who appreciates the brilliant art of a world, and its characters, who are never 'black and white' but give you every shade of gray in between, then makes you question where you want to stand with them.
