That's very curious. Imitated desire can often give the same effect. Or maybe we're not looking at it correctly. I wonder if its the same types of kids or not. Because if it is, I don't find it to be a very good argument. Essentially, if the models change without any effective change in behavior, perhaps they weren't the model after all.
It always seemed to me that the types of kids who do drugs find models more readily in their peers than in their parents. Their parents have usually stepped out of their kids lives, making the kids imitate them in so far as they mutually ignore one another. However, the kids doing drugs probably have more genuine models elsewhere.
