Sounds great. The only problem here is that both the text and tradition point to the fact that Cain's sacrifice itself was not accepted by God (hence the sadfaceness of Cain). God doesnt acknowledge Cain's sacrifice. This is different from God being a little put out at Cain later. I think that this detail points more to a pre-sacrifice fault in Cain rather than the post-sacrifice fault that is being proposed here. It is possible that God foresaw the violence; He does in fact tell Cain that sin waits at the tent flap. I think that He is addressing the same type of violence that you are proposing, I just think that the progression to that violence is slightly different.
