I think the funniest rivalry in the Jacob story is the one between Rachel and Leah. They compete for children. And when they can't quite compete, they send their maidservants in to Jacob to help populate their numbers. Poor Jacob. Caught in the middle of this. He must have had it rough.
I guess that's why its very important to only have one wife, but I don't think that specific argument will convince many people.
