Its in interesting article. There is some truth to it. Americans probably sacrifice taste for utility. There is certainly a "lets just do it" attitude. I suppose this helps in emergency siutations. Although I don't know about American cities being ugly. I have never been to Europe so I can't compare. America is very diverse, you have both construction and destruction. Geographically, America is diverse as well. Take California for example. You can be standing on the beach and see snow capped mountains in the distance. In California you have the beaches, mountains and desert all rolled into one state. All in one month I have been swimming in the Pacific, skiiing in the Big Bear Mountains and riding motorcycles in the Glamis desert. California is a fun and beautiful place. And the weather is fantastic. In December it will be sunny and 74 degrees.

BTW, I'm talking mostly about SOUTHERN California, not our wicked brothers to the north. LOL!
