Shane. I dont like your language. To balance the picture given by a few cranky socialists. It seems like this is an underhand reference to myself and Chris, why dont you come out and name us instead of printing these obvious snide remarks?
My type of socialism is the type that would have no problem in changing to conservatism if I thought they would be better for my country. Could you do the same?
If you want to know which country is the most generous giver of aid my guess would be (and it only is a guess) THE Netherlands. Why? because it seems to me that it is a generous giver of NO STRINGS attached aid. I dont think this can be said of Britain, nor do I think it can be said of the USA. As for the generousity of personal giving, I once saw in London a begger putting some money in a charity box. The most generous giving comes from those to whom it hurts to give. Bill Gates through his Foundation is a truly fantastic giver in monitary terms, Im not sure it hurts him though.
