Well, you know what a fuss "Titanic" made? People all around the world know "Titanic", the Movie.
You could produce twenty (!) Titanic Style megalomania moneyburning movies for the cost of this election campaign.

You know, I think Kerry might have won the election if he did take $1.5bio of the budget and hand every adult person he saw a hundred bucks with the words "It's from Kerry, so remember Kerry when you vote". That would have stuck much better than much of the not-so-factual facts that he presentented to the undecided voters.
Or, bucks are too plump, so just buy a few presents.
Give every homeless person a new suit and a month's worth of "McDoomalds Sloppy Meal" and they would be overrunning the polling booths... just for some thoughts how the money could have been spent. :)
