Subject: Thank God it is time for peace!Arafat is gone
In reply to: Joe 's message, ""Bin Laden's Inspiration"" on 19:48:01 11/12/04 Fri

I personally feel, the issue is not democracy, or who is the leader of the palestines, though that can make a big difference, but not a solution by itself.
Decades of negative campaign against israel in the arabic n islamicworld has created a generation of palestineans who hate israel, and believe (thanks to the faulty application of religion to politics)that killing the israeli is a virtue. What can you imagine will happen , if the only role model of a people is a person carrying agun even while in the toilet .Violence is a part of palestines daily life and violence can not be avoided by democracy.

Israel has peace with Egypt and Jordan, which are both dictatorships( friendly to USA)
With Arafat gone, America should encourage its friends ( the gulf states which are in her pallist)to
stop hating israel, and promoting the financing of murders for religion,( whether Jerusalem is theirs or not)and come to a pragmatic position that israel and palestine can and should live side by side and love each other.
Unless this christian love is planted , (by force initially as there is no peaceful way to plant this love initially), middleeast peace will be a mirage.
