Hi Patrick,

From Strathcona, it pretty much 15km to the edge of the city in any direction, so that's as far as you'll get for your 30km ride if you start from home. Plan to go farther if you want to spend any time at a decent cruising speed instead of stop-and-go.

You're fortunate that you live close to a few bike shops that offer group rides - United, Cycle-Logic, and Redbike,
so you might want to check them out. I think they all have midweek and weekend rides starting from their stores.
