Here is information on a quick campaign I did during NIE Week 2004:

I just did a general fund drive with a theme, but I have added the
capability of pledging online by debit/credit card. Our location was
pushing for EZ pay for our newspaper subscriptions, so I applied the
concept for NIE donations as well. If I were an outsider, I personally
would have a hard time donating $180 at once....but if I saw my child was
using the paper and the difference it made, I would easily be persuaded to
give $15 a month.

Power of One Web Instructions - contains the project information I sent to
our webmaster and gives an overview of the project.
Power of One-5W: this document was turned into a pdf which could be
downloaded from the web - also used as a handout for our Spring Home Show,
at our newspaper customer service desk, etc.
Power of One - Parent: This document was sent out with my NIE newsletter
with the request that teachers duplicate and send it home.

Goal for the project: $375
From 150 teachers, about 2/3 would actually send it home (100 x 25
students = 2500 distributed) and 1% would respond (25) at the lowest level
($15).

I didn't make the goal, and I didn't get any "EZ donors." We got some
donations and get the word out about NIE. It was a simple, low-cost
project which I will do again. I will revamp it to better promote the
giving club and include the premiums for each level.
