Subject: Rock-a-bye

she held the diaper bag to her chest as they finally made it home. It felt weird not having the belly anymore. She felt she was doing rather good with this whole mothering stuff. But that had been in the hospital where there had been nurses and doctors around to help her out. Now they were home and she and Gavin were on their own. She watched Gavin closely as he carried the baby in, biting her lower lip. She had no clue what she was doing. She sure hoped he did.

He adored his little girl and it was obvious with the way he lifted her from the carrier and cuddled her to his chest as soon as they were inside. He was a little nervous about Jordy's lack of confidence though, he had known, he knew really, that she was an excellent mother but she was so nervous about it and that made him a little nervous in turn. - she took a deep breath and she nodded, opening her arms for the baby. She'd never admit how scared she was about breastfeeding their baby because she knew it was what was best. He shifted to hand her baby, carefully placing her in her arms before he tenderly brushed back Jordalyn's hair, placing it behind her ears before he placed a warm kiss to her lips, his eyes showing his complete sincerity as he murmured a quick, "your amazing." he had been in awe of her when she was in labor, he couldn't even imagine the pain she had to have been in but she handled it like a champ. - she sat down on the couch, holding Lainey carefully in front of her, staring down at her tiny face while she prepped herself. She always felt so awkward holding her, but she knew she wasn't. This just didn't come so naturally to her as it did to other women. Finally she got herself and the baby situated and within a few moments, the baby started to nurse, causing her to relax and release a huge sigh of relief. "The OJ is still good, and we got that juice you bought the other day..." He was pretty relaxed, pretty settled, he was just excited to have his baby home. Rogan and Starr would be over later, he was looking forward to showing off little Lainey, she was beautiful - he may be a little biased, but he had a feeling anyone would say she was adorable. He poured her a glass and then headed back in, careful to keep his eyes on hers instead of down where they longed to be. He cleared his throat, handing her the glass and letting her take a drink before he took it back from her to set on the table. "Lemme know when you want it and I'll get it for you..." He smiled a touch, nodding as he sat down next to her, his arm going around her shoulders as he drew his girls gently to his side, his eyes dropping over Jordy's face slowly. He never thought when he slept with her the first - and only - time, that things would end up like this. His fingers gently ran up and down her arm as he gazed down at their baby for a brief moment before he nodded. "yeah...definately..." He laughed softly, his eyes drifting over Jordy appreciatively before he looked back up at her eyes. "I kinda forgot what you looked like not pregant." He admitted with a small smirk, leaning in to press a kiss to her smiling lips. "Think she'll like her room and everything?" They would probably keep her in the bassinet in her room for the first couple weeks but after that it would be off to the nursery. His brow furrowed at that thought, his eyes going to hers for a moment. "What would you think about sharing my room with me, Jordy? I would feel better if both of you were in there with me..." - she grinned lightly, glancing down at her flat stomach and the baby "I forgot what it was like to be able to see my feet, it's rather nice. And her room is beautiful, there's no way she won't love it." For his last question, she was quiet for a moment, drawing her eyes back to his after her brief pause "I think...that that would be a wise choice to make. That way, if I don't hear her, you may and you could wake me up" She hadn't shared a bed with him for a while now, she'd been too restless and hadn't wanted to keep him from sleeping and it would be different without the belly between them. He smiled softly, his fingers brushing over her jaw gently before they reached down to run down Lainey's cheek as she nursed, his eyes immensly tender as he looked back up to Jordalyn. "Honey, after the first months, I knew you would be hard to live without..."
