Oh I know after George died everybody was like, Oh George! I liked him all along! His contribution to the Beatles can't be overstated. Hey George brought jazz chord voicings to Beatle songs. Listen to the vocal harmonies. Without George's moving parts, Beatle harmonies are pretty much Everly Bros. rip-offs. George knew how to weave in and out of a mix while Lennon was banging away. I would also argue that the most consistant and compelling post-Beatles catalogue is George's. His slide playing was completely unique and more widely copied than Clapton's or Duane Allman's. Without George could there have been a Byrds, Big Star, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers? REM, Elvis Costello? Long live George!
