She had looked at him for that brief moment and he wondered what that had meant. What was the emotion behind them? He couldn't read it, not from this distance. And likewise the rest of the figurine was hidden from view, and so he was unable to gauge the reaction. Jianson didn't like poking his nose in where he wasn't wanted, and so broke away from that optical connection and faced the front again. His eyes were rendered a slate colour in the dim lighting, although glittering as he made jittery movements in taking in the scene before him. Was there was a confessional booth here? Was this place even Catholic? He couldn't tell from the general mustiness of it all. With a desolate sigh, he rose from the pew and started to move towards the back again, thinking that perhaps it was all just a mistake and that he'd be better off concentrating on his work at home. Knowing it was inevitable to pass Aubrey on his way out, he drew in a preparatory breath and smiled anxiously as he passed. "I'm sorry if I made you uncomfortable earlier."
