She shook her head, absentmindedly running her dark hair, "That is rough." She didn't know what else to say. It has been less than eight hours ago that she had just discovered a missing part of herself... what could she do for this girl? "Well, I can sort of relate. I'm on the streets too and," She gestured to her backpack. "I'm usually on the run from someone these days, and I thought I've been doing... alright. But, I do know... I just think there is more to life now than running, y'know?" How could she ever describe what happened to her earlier? Would she sound crazy? "I came here looking for an answer and I found..." Found what? There were no words to describe it. "...God." She let His name fall between them with a long silence. Her heart was beating wildly in her chest as she met the eyes of this other girl. After what seemed an eternity she spoke again, shyly, "I'd like to help you out, Julie. I mean, we could help each other. You can show me around town, maybe we can find a better place than the street to stay, and I could..." Careful, Tally. Don't get in over your head this time. You still are sure what happened to you. A voice of reason reminded her. Yeah, but it is bigger than me. It is bigger than her, or both of us. But it is going to explode inside my heart if I don't find a way to share it. "...could help you watch out for this creep." She shrugged, knowing that was rather lame. She sucked in several deep breaths. "I know this sounds strange, but I really want to help you. Maybe we were supposed to meet? God could be answering both our prayers. You don't have to be scared into...er... murder. Or suicide. There has to be another way...." Her words trailed off. She didn't know what else to say. Her head was still spinning as she smiled uncertainly. Could she make a friend out of this girl? Wow, that would be another big change.
