] Date Posted: 10:19:12 11/10/04 Wed Ok... I guess I was wrong! Kasey AND Kevin Harvick have been fined and are on probation until Nov. 30! I think this is a bit steep, especially for Kasey. Not sure what good this will do though. Because the $10,000 fine is pocket change to these guys. And the probation is really nothing, they still get to race and gain points... so as long as they don't get into a "scuffle" again then there will be no harm done to either of them. Kasey is a pretty calm guy and didn't even try to fight with Kevin, so I'm not too worried about him having anymore problems. Kevin on the other hand will probably be on his best behavior for the next few weeks and then be back to his old self again. So in short, I'm not really sure what the point of this was. The drivers have worked out their issues with each other, so I don't see why they couldn't just drop this one. Maybe NASCAR just wanted to make a point about incidents after the checkered flag. But there have been several other incidents earlier in the season that didn't get any penalties... so why should this one? Make a new rule about it and then really inforce it next season... why start something like this 2 races before the end of the season? I'm so confused by this whole thing that I don't even know what to say!!! LOL! Check out the article on NASCAR.com (www.nascar.com/2004/news/headlines/cup/11/10/kharvick_kkahne_fines/index.html) and then let me know what y'all think! Not sure how to do links on this board yet so you may have to cut and paste it into your browser. Can't wait to hear y'alls thoughts on this! Kristen K. I think this is ridulous too. I thought Harvick made it worse by making the comment that Kasey wasn't big enough to get out of his car. Harvick was showing that he was looking for a fight by making that comment. I think Nascar needs to be consistent too! What really has made me mad is that they will put drivers on probation, but they never make them sit out a race when they violate their probation. Look at Stewart this year. Nascar is too afraid of losing fans if they make a driver sit out a race and the drivers know it, so the drivers with the uncontrollable tempers will always get away with it. Oh well, that's my 2 cents. I just hate it for Kasey. He doesn't deserve to be on probation much less the fine. [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |
