I was wondering if anyone out there could help me locate Robin Howland who used to live on Toledo Ave in Warwick, Rhode Island. She has a daughter named Heather and used to go to Jack Witschi's on Friday night to watch wrestling. Her father's name was John and her mother's name was Ruth. It does really seem surreal that I just graduated. I really did have fun in high school esp with being on the step team and being captain and all. The days are really not the same anymore. High school was the best part of my life and I will never 4get those memories I had. I hope all my fellow 2005 graduates are doing well. Hi Takendra..whatever happened to Mrs. Krueger? Sophia was a student of Mrs. Byo's who graduated in 1990 or 1991. She has an amazing voice and I remember that she wanted to go into music education..great to hear that she did and is doing well. I was always the one Mrs. Krueger belittled (even when I did not sing - just mouthed everything) for singing off key. Oh well...my little girl doesn't seem to care! Mrs. Krueger was always crying and/or angry.

I've been looking for him since he was 5 yrs old. Well it's been a year and some months since Graduating from Piper High, The memories of that school were good and bad, But Let me tell you have come a Loooooong way, and yes Piper has had some Major issues but the students ,alumni ,and faculty all know that deep down PHS isn't so bad after all trust me guys at some point you'll look back and yes, actually miss Piper. If i could go back I would, If anything make the most of your four years, and if you're a Senior there is never such a moment to be so proud of the journey you have made and This is YOUR year let those underclassmen know who is BOSS!!! (underclass your time will come too) The time goes by so fast and before you know it you're applying to college and soon after that you're kissing your High school memories Goodbye. HI EVERYONE, THIS IS SEPRI, CLASS OF 2002, ANYWAY. PIPER WAS A GOOD SCHOOL, WITH SOME GREAT TEACHERS (MR MARSH, MRS ANDERSON, AND A FEW OTHERS) I REALLY ENJOYED MY 4 YEARS THERE, AT FIRST I DIDN'T EVEN WANT TO GO THERE BUT I'M GLAD I DID. THERE WAS SOME RACIAL ISSUES, RIOTS, SO CALLED GANG ISSUES AND BIG FIGHTS, LIKE SUMMER SCHOOL 2001.HOWEVER I BELIEVE THAT SOME OF THOSE FIGHTS HELPED ALOT OF PEOPLE SEE HOW STUPID AND IGNORANT THEY WERE FOR FIGHTING AND HOW PETTY THE ARGUEMENTS WERE. omg i cant believe i actually found this site, well im just posting to say whats up to everyone from the class of 2001!! i have moved since i last saw everyone, i am back in new york working for viacom as a customer service rep, i also help my father and uncles with out family business out here in Queens. Due to the split that tore us apart, many of us would like to reunite all three schools. It is on the other side of the river at River Walk in downtown Ft. Lauderdale. RSVP's would be appreciated, but not imperative, however we might have to "forewarn" the restaurant!!!

Please help us spread the word. We would like to contact everyone that we can from all three schools. We are e-mailing people mainly through this site and Classmates and a messages are posted on the message boards here and under "reunions and events" on Classmates. I remember those days at WKPX and I extend a special shout-out to all my friends from there.

I stumbled upon this board tonight while doing a Google on Piper High School and saw that some people from '79 had posted, so I thought I'd say hi.

I've been living in Chicago area since 1980, happily married since 1984, and have 2 daughters; 13 and 9. I was on a reunion mailing list and notified about our 10 and 15 year class reunions, but at the time of both, I was too close to the due dates of the pregnancies of each of my children, so I was "too pregnant" to travel that far away from home, and was never able to make it to either. Maybe I'll make it for the 25th. :)

I haven't been as far south as Sunrise since a vacation in 84 and we drove all around the old neighborhood, and Piper. I couldn't believe how much the area had changed, and I can only imagine how different it is today. In the late 70's the area out past University Drive hadn't really been developed yet. The only thing I do remember about that area is the Sunrise Music Theatre sitting out in the middle of nowhere - there were streets and street lights, but no houses -- and that's where I learned to drive a stick shift. (Donna French's [class of '78] Honda Civic) :)

In high school I would hang around with Donna French ('78) and last I heard she was married and living in Coral Springs (I think). Donna Pitter ('78), who was married and living in Ocala, and her sister, Lori ('79), who is married and living near Tampa (I think Donna told me she has twin girls).

Does anyone remember Chuck Miller '79, or Tim Smith from '76? They were friends of mine before I moved to Chicago, and I just wondered how they were doing.

It's good to see someone else also has an interest where others from Class of 1979 and where everyone is residing at these days.

Don't know if I can remember who you were other than my classmate. I'm now living in Chicago myself. In the Gurnee area North of Chicago working for Toyota/Lexus.

You mentioned the Sunrise Musical Theatre. YES,I remember when it first opened. I used to work their as a Valet Attendant. And yes your correct there was nothing out there as you described. I can only imagine the urban growth in the Sunrise area.

I can remember the streets myself, I lived on Sunrise BLVD right off NW 70th Street in Sunrise, unless it's been renamed.

I remember the funky Lime Green Sunrise Police Cars. An was planning on becoming a Sunrise Firefighter, but career paths changed for the better for me.

I used to hang out in Ft. Lauderdale off A1A. Many SCUBA dives done off the coast. I joined the Navy in 1979 after graduation and have since retired in 2000 with a great career. Teaching these days and staying in college working on the ole doctorate degree(at least trying).

This murder is a SAD incident. I agree with some from the past, who have expressed themselves in the Sunrise Community, which once was pleasant and nice place to live.

I didn't live too far from Piper High and I know exactly where the incident happened. I use to go there after school with my girlfriend. I can only imagine the changes in Sunrise, which have taken place, for that matter probably the entire Ft Layuderdale area.

After reading some of the obscene jestures and racial expressions, I've been reading, even on this message board. I can only imagine some of the riff raff living in Sunrise.

I didn't realize so many high school drop outs visited this site. Suggestion: Go to night school, and take remedial reading and spelling. Guaranteed to expand your grammar and ability to communicate with the skills of at least a 5th grader. Well, I take that back. After reading all the above messages, I think it might be time you put down the crack pipe and become a productive member of the American work force, because shooting for a 5th grade spelling level may be beyond your abilities. Hey, Matt. I knew Eli Atlas. We were in Ms. Gold's AP English our senior year -- he was the only other person that chose not to do the "optional" Literary Review assignment over Spring Break. I've always wondered if Ms. Gold was as mad at him as she was at me. She swore that nobody had ever skipped that assignment and gotten a 5 on the AP exam, but I did. I've always wondered how Eli did. Hi all!

In high school I started this band called BOB with a couple of knumbskulls. It was punk and angry, and we really were not good. Maybe you even still have a BOB sticker or saw one on a locker??

Since then I have been studying the drumset and now I have a new band: Going Nowhere. We have been together for over four years now, and we're trying to make it to the big time.
Actually, we just played the Warped Tour this past weekend at the Pompano Beach Amphitheater.

I'm from WKPX NOW, I'm a junior at Piper. As a little update:
We still have the BOB CD on the racks. THough a lot of people -claim- to not like it, when they hear "In Test Tunnel Disease" they can't help but sing it for the rest of the day. :-)
Going Nowhere is a huge success in the station, I don't know of a single Punk/Ska fan who doesn't like your CD, and it is programmed very regularly--everyone knows at least one of your songs.
--Also saw you at Warped Tour for your last song. You did great.
Well, now that I know BOB and Going nowhere have one of the same members, I'll have to start spreading the word. Keep playing the great tunes and supporting your home station, WKPX. L8er man...

Would everyone stop and pray for Courtney family for the loss of him. Value the days that you are on this earth because you never know when you are going to go. A tradegy was brought about yesterday when a radom boy stab courtney a little above the heart and everyone was trying to help him but when he was rush to the hospital he died the could not save him because it was to much damage done so if you would please read the article below and pray his family thank you.

SUNRISE -- An agonizing night for a Broward family when fight outside a Sunrise pizza parlor, leads to the stabbing death of a teen boy an his family says he was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

The 17-year-old Lauderhill resident was stabbed in the chest around 3 p.m. in a parking lot at at a strip mall on the 4300 block of North University Drive after witnesses said a brawl erupted among about 75 teenagers.

Friends of the boy originally attempted to take him to the hospital themselves but then turned around when they saw police arrive on the scene.

The boy was then rushed by ambulance to University Hospital in Tamarac where he later died.

Family and friends are in shock tonight and are left with only memories of this high school football player.

Police are considering this a murder investigation.

Two youths are in custody and were are being questioned.

I think thata everyone at Piper High School should come to a realization thata there is really no need to be fighting over anything wheter it be something really small and stupid they are fighting about or a huge fight involiving many people at our school. Everyone should stop and think about Courtney's death and see that there really isn't any point to fight because something like this can result in another fight and it really isn't worth taking alife of a 17 year old kid who still has his whole life ahead of him and a child who still hasnt explored the world or hasnt experienced his dreams of becoming a professional football player in is later career. He would have lived a long and normal life if it wasnt for Kern o'Sullivan who decided to stab him during their brawl Friday afternoon. The fact that he stabbed him with an ice pick and did it twice.(pretty sick) He deserves to spend the rest of his life in prison suffering for what he did and he should have thought twice before stabbing him right in his chest. Kern will be reciveing a severe sentence which basically means that he could be sentenced 25 yrs in prison up to life without any parol. Much of my love to the Carroll family your son should not have deserved this over an immature high school fight. (Even though i've never met your son or have even talked to him i feel that what happened to him was wrong and kids that attend any school should stop to think thata fighting is not the right way to solve anything b/c something horrible can happen like this)

I know it's two months later, but I wanted to extend my condolences to the Courtney family...
I graduated Piper in 1998 and also went through the agony of fellow students passing away...heart attacks, shootings, suicides, car accidents, stabbings, etc. But you all have eachother and that's what matters! It's a horrible thing for family and friends to go through, and even though I don't know anyone at Piper anymore, my heart goes out to all of you. I, myself was attached at Piper in my senior year by three girls in the 300 bathroom and luckily I survived - there was NO ONE around to help me. I recently went back Piper - 4 years later - and went into that bathroom and chills ran through my spine.
I know that Piper has very IGNORANT, INCONSIDERATE, ROWDY, RUDE and OBNOXIOUS students. But I also know how much spirit and love flows through that school... I am proud of my times at Piper...the commons area nearest the 100 building right in front of the small auditorium, where the "Party People" hung out...the cafeteria...the gym...and most of all, the radio station. You students are so lucky, even though it doesn't seem like it. High school is only 4 years long. Right now I'm sitting at a desk wishing I was in 6th hour learning something (we didn't have block schedules). I'm only 23 years old and I feel old!! I know some of the teachers SUCK, I know sometimes school is HARD, I hate waking up too, but just keep your head up. Keep your nose clean and don't let anyone push you around. I love you all...and best of luck!

BENTLEY SHELLAHAMER, Assistant Dean and Professor of Music Education, has been on the faculty since 1977. He previously served as director of the Marching Chiefs and Associate Conductor of Bands for twelve years. Prior to joining the School of Music faculty, Dr. Shellahamer was the Band Director at James Rickards High School in Tallahassee and at Piper High School in Fort Lauderdale. During his teaching career Dr. Shellahamer has served in various offices in the Florida Bandmasters Association, the Broward County Band Directors Association, the Broward County Music Educators Association, and Phi Beta Mu National Honorary Band Directors Fraternity. A native of Baltimore, MD, Dr. Shellahamer earned both the B.M.E. and the M.M.E. degrees from Florida State University. He earned the Ph.D. degree from the Ohio State University. In addition to his administrative duties, Dr. Shellahamer conducts the Wind Symphony in the fall semester and teaches various music education courses. He is the co-author of a widely used textbook on marching band techniques, has served as an adjudicator for band festivals and contests throughout the nation, and is active as a clinician/conductor.

i'm looking for a girl who went to piper till 96' than moved to the keys...... i posted this befor and now i'm just doing it agen so ppl can see it and if somebody knows where she is e-mail me, or anything about her....

shannon nicole davis ( last time i saw her... as i was told she changed her name to nicole i don't know about the last name. I have talked to alot of her old friends and all of them want to know what happened to her..... last thing i found out is she was in miami.... please e-mail or post reply if u know anything about her

Well I've seen message going out to all the other classes but have not seen one from my new and improved class of 2004 .
Well its nice know about the others but like they all say our class logo is LIKE NON BEFORE 2004 so to all u better show Nuff respect to us . Because our class is like so OFF DA CHAIN so Big up to all of the Juniors for this school year of 2003 .
