I would certainly tan vs. dp on a badger. As for the ears the last badger I did I used commercial earliners and they turned out great, but you could also use apoxy or bondo and get the same effect. If you want I can send a picture of the first one I did, getting ready to do another. I just recently got some skunks that were case skinned and dry salted, they still had that Le PU smell, I tanned in krowtan after rehydrating then washed in tide laundry soap and there is not smell. I'm sure the scent glands have been removed, if you find that you still have a smell after that you can get some febreez from the grocery store and that will help with the smell.
