I believe what Alli meant was this: Our generation "as a whole - has been spoiled, ungrateful and lazy. This is not to say that ALL persons representing said group are ungrateful for the opportunity we have been granted by birthplace. I think that most would agree that our country (prior to this attack) had been divided by petty differences and were EXTREMELY judgemental and critical of our nations leaders. While this attitude was often warranted - it was not in the best interest of our country.

I am not proposing that we blindly follow these people - only that we realize that they are attempting (for the most part) to complete very difficult jobs. Yes - they did volunteer and campaign for them. (You also accepted your job, does that mean that you should go about it without support and recognition for a job well done?)

I am ashamed and embarrassed that it took something of this magnitude to "wake us up" and bring us together as a nation, but it did. I don't understand the rationale for it anymore than you do. I only know that MY God had a reason for allowing this to happen ................ I'm absolutely certain it wasn't so that we could continue to quarrel and fight amonst ourselves. I strongly feel that it was to Unite. Just my humble opinion :-))))
