This was a good choice, Alison, for a follow-up book. I really have been enjoying it and think I'll go through it again after I finish with a little spiral notebook dedicated to some of the activities. Wouldn't it be fun to go to a retreat and "do" that book with a bunch of friends or future friends? I can't believe the emphasis on being authentic and actually discovering our true selves. I want to know why women, starting with those about 55 and younger, are having such trouble finding themselves, their authentic selves? I really don't think my mother's generation (70-80's) had as much trouble. I remember my mother's getting a birthday card once that had the printed greeting: "May you each day discover more of who you are." My mother thought that idea was absurd. I will never forget her comment: "I have known who I was since I was about nine years old! Who discovers who they are when they are 78?" The funny thing was I couldn't decided whether she was really lucky or really sad to think that way! haha.. Talk about not knowing who I really am.. duh!

I have been looking at every room and thinking what it would be like to eliminate the things/furnishings, clothes, etc. that are not ME.... It is intoxicating to think about. I have so much in my home that is someone else due to generous gifts, inheritance, and the abundance of "former" lives I have either lost or declined to embrace.... What a project that would be... Do you think it would feel like losing weight to get rid of a lot? hmmmm.

Have a great Valentine weekend. I am going to my shop later, and going to my mother and father's for a luncheon tomorrow.... We do little love gifts, so I will be getting those ready today.
