As usual Gayla your post is thought provoking and inspirational. The fact that women struggle with becoming authentic is something I have been thinking about for a long time. Part of me thinks that the problem comes down to greed and raised expectations of what life "should" provide. I know so many women, particuarly of my generation, who compromise themselves so completely in order to have three holidays a year, a wardrobe full of designer clothes and a bigger and better house, that they forget who they are and who they truthfully want to be.
They have no comprehension of sacrifice and truly believe poverty is not being able to afford a new pair of shoes every week. When you are so busy following fashion and grabbing at every penny, there simply isn't time to reflect on the fact that there may be more to life.
