Of course, for healthy son and loving elderly parents able to live alone I am dearly grateful..... (2); for this group and for my wonderful and supportive women friends, for a good prognosis for a dear friend who underwent Colon Cancer surgery and has to start chemo (it could have been so much worse, but that kind of thing is always hard to be grateful for.. because it also could have been better... but that's 4... uh, five... for a warm, cozy house in the midst of a below zero cold snap here in Missouri... But slathered between the lines of gratitude is a line of hearbreak for me and my spirit.... I had believed the love of my life (or at least the last 30 years of it) was coming back to me.. As lately as Christmas morning, he told me I was the only woman he ever loved or ever would... Wouldn't you girls think he would come back to me? But no, he has returned to another woman he can't get along with, who is ugly inside and out, who convinces him he ruins everyone's lives... who he told his family he never loved.... Thank goodness I was born a woman.... but I dearly believe I am in dire need of some of those hankies we have all been talking about because I have been the big bawl baby today... (I found out this morning in a phone call on my way to work).... I don't mean to be a party pooper... And Allison, your stories about Ireland and your dear sister just melt my heart and put a sparkle in my day, along with thinking about you getting to see Jason, Jennifer...
