Subject: Dangers of topical steroids?

I obtained clobetasol propionate/dermavate from my doctor, to try and help the stretching process (I made good progress for a while but then seemed to hit a brick wall). The doctor claimed that it was unsafe to use for more than a week as it could cause bleeding and infection - is this true? The advice seems to be to use it for months rather than a week.

The study says " .. clobetasol propionate 0.05% (Dermovate, Glaxco UK). Instructions were to retract the foreskin as much as possible without causing pain and then apply a thin layer of the ointment into the prepuce from the corona gkandis to the distal margin once daily."

Unfortunately a quick googling didn't reveal what the "distal margin" might be. For now I'll just try spreading it on the tight band and hope for the best.

The stretching technique isn't clear to me. Currently I pull the foreskin back over the erect penis but it seems this approach is limited .... stretching outwards with the little finger is a better way? It seems more awkward.
