What a horrible opening this musical version had, yet the movie got a 12 min standing ovation at the Venice film fest. Pretty much like the Costner film. I wonder what gives?
We watched a new version of Salem's Lot on Prime, v good. Lots of b-Ball too. The Dodgers have a lot to make up for!

The old: The Sixth Sense and Mean Girls (LiLo version not the new one). Have to say The Sixth Sense really held up for me. I loved it when I first saw it and watching it again after so many years I still really enjoyed. HJO was amazing in it. and I love Bruce Willis.

Mean Girls always entertained me and still does as well.

The new: The Fall guy. I found it pretty entertaining if absolutely preposterous :) Of course I'd watch Ryan Gosling read the phone book for two hours lol. I think the action scenes lost a fair bit on a tiny airplane screen but it was still a lot of fun.

I don't think we made it thru the new Fall Guy. Even Ryan Gosling couldn't save it.

I would be willing to sit through anything with Gosling!

[> Funny article in LATimes about bad sequels, like Joker II, SO bad they're good. -- skw123, 10:54:46 10/10/24 Thu [1]

They have fun skewering, Grease II, Jaws II, Exorcist II, Speed II and worst of all, Exorcist II. Even when some or all of the original stars returned, these all bombed and even damaged reputations. In a time when remakes seem de rigueur, film makers might want to think twice and maybe make something original instead of milking past glories? just saying.
