Anyone planning to attend this in August? I don't know any of the performers, and was hoping for some of Dan's past band mates or a few recognizable names, but I'm sure Jean will pick quality musicians, known or unknown. I wish, o wish, I could go, but I'm rather tethered to my current situation.

Jean had nothing to do with the tribute band members. They are all from the Peoria area and other cities in Illinois. That is why you did not recognize the name. The tribute band first performed in September 2008 and they were absolutely awesome. Hugh Higgins is the Mastermind behind obtaining the band members.

The memorial on the riverfront and the after-concert party have been planned by several people in Peoria. It was unbelievable had many hours of meetings and planning over the past several years it has taken to get to this point.

I hope to be there! Don't have solid plans yet, but I'm hoping things will work out. It's a long way, but I would so love to be a part of it.

I think it's awesome that the memorial is a grassroots effort. Cheers to Hugh, Diney, and the other Peoria folks who had the vision and perseverance to make it happen.
