((May I ask one simple question, and get the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth? What is this strange thing you call modesty? I know not of this modesty you speak of. lol))

Maria, wake the shard up! Just wake up, you lecherous little, deceitful Kylara! Myth's mental voice smouldered in anger as he chided Maria none too gently.

Maria, in turn, moaned, and turned over, trying to shut Myth's voice out of her head. Suddenly she sat up.

She was in a male rider's bed.

She had slept in that bed, with the rider.

She felt good about herself.

The sheet fell from where it was around her neck, leaving her exposed to the waist. Tendrils of long, black hair, freed from their severe braid. The skin on her face tingled, and felt warm where S'peer had brushed hair off.

I hear you, Myth. And nothing too terrible happened, did it?
I can't believe this is you. What's wrong with you?
Nothing, last I checked. Actually, though, last I checked, I was angry about K'mir coming.

At that, Myth's eyes whirled a vicious red. Maria's smooth brow, so recently free of worries, wrinkled at the sudden tumult of emotions in her head.

"Good morning," she said, atempting at pleasantness. She knew she sounded peevish, but what with trying to shut Myth up, and dealing with the tumulting mix of old and familiar, and new and strange emotions, peevish was actually good. There was also exasperated, frustrated, hateful, despairing, and sorrowful.

((I now have another thing to say: . . . Happy Birthday to me!))
