Subject: Result of "Redemption" Speculation Challenge!


The most insightful JAG's "Redemption" viewer among the posters of this board who decided to take a chance!

Here are the questions:


1- How do you think the title "Redemption" applies to Harm's case?
a) Harm tries to redeem (rescue) his friend from paying the price for his faults. He is guilty but Harm tries to get him free.
b) Harm tries to redeem (repair) his friend's reputation. He is not guilty and Harm tries to clear his name.
c) Harm tries to redeem (reform) his friend by talking him into admitting his faults and accepting the consequences.
d) Vague/debatable.
e) Some other scenario.

2- How do you think Harm's old friend pleads to Harm about the fraternization accusation?
a) He admits to having had an affair with the young Lieutenant.
b) He denies to having had an affair and puts the blame on someone who is trying to frame him.
c) Either he does not admit anything or if he tries to Harm tells him that he does not want to know.
d) Vague/debatable.
e) Some other scenario.
The first part of choice b is correct but since the second part is not correct then choice e is also applies.

3- If they charge Harm's friend, one assumes they would also charge the Lieutenant, who do you think will represent her?
a) Bud.
b) Turner.
c) Someone else.
d) They would not charge the Lieutenant.
e) There will be no reference about the Lieutenant.
f) Some other scenario.

4- If we get to see fraternization case in court do you think both parties to fraternization will be tried at the same time, in the same court?
a) The case makes it to court and the Commander and the Lieutenant would be tried separately.
b) The case makes it to court and the Commander and the Lieutenant would be tried together.
c) The case does not make it to court.
d) Some other scenario.
Well since the Commander had its own case then choice a applies, but since the Lieutenant was not charged at all choice d applies as well.

5- which country do you think the Commander supposedly sells classified technology to?
a) His contact is in the United States and it will never be revealed what country was interested in that technology.
b) Russia.
c) China.
d) An Arabic country.
e) A South America country.
f) Some other country.
g) Harm has made a mistake. He has not sold any information to any foreign company.
h) Some other scenario.
My understanding from the episode was that a company inside US was trying to buy the secrets. I did not catch any mention of name foreign country. But since in ET interview DJE mentioned China I thought maybe I missed something so both choices a and c apply.

6- Harm's friend's name is Webster. There is another character in the list of guest with the same last name. Do you think these two characters are related? If yes what do you think their relation could be? (hint: in the preview when Harm first meets his friend, his friend's voice is heard explaining to a young gentleman, between 17 and twenty something years old (I think, I am pretty bad with guessing ages), that Harm is an old friend).
a) They are related, brothers.
b) They are related, father/son.
c) They are related, uncle/nephew.
d) They are not related.
e) There will be no mention of the relation.

7- How do you think the title "Redemption" applies to Mac's case?
a) The girl's mother and Mac and try to redeem (rescue) the girl from her abusive father.
b) The girl's father tries to redeem (repair) his reputation. He is falsely accused.
c) The girls parents and Mac try to redeem (reform) the father by talking him into admitting his faults and accepting the consequences.
d) Vague/debatable.
e) Some other scenario.

8- Do you think there will be any reference to Mac's abusive father in this episode and if yes how do you think it will play out?
a) Yes, there will be a reference and Mac casually mentions it.
b) Yes, there will be a reference but Mac will be challenged before she mentions it (i.e. someone says you have no idea, or you do not understand the situation. Then Mac responds that she does.)
c) Yes, there will be a reference but someone other than Mac mentions it.
d) No, there will be no reference to Mac's abusive father in this episode.

There was a nonverbal reference. So I guess one can consider it both yes a reference was made and no it was not made!!

9- What type of abuse do you think the mother is accusing the father of?
a) Physical.
b) Sexual.
c) It would not be mentioned clearly.
d) Some other type.
My understanding is that the girl was emotionally disturbed because of her parents’ situation.

10- Do you think the episode title "Redemption" would also apply to Harm and Mac's relationship?
a) Yes, they will redeem their friendship/relationship.
b) No, the title would not apply to Harm-Mac friendship/relationship.
c) Vague/debatable.
d) Some other scenario.
Harm and Mac did not take any steps toward repairing their friendship and thus choice b applies. But I got the feeling that it was repaired and thus I think choice d applies as well.
