I lived in 8 Halls road terrace from 1950 to 1960. I remember derilect houses at the bottom of our street, past the allotments. We used to get water from 'the spout' when the mains water was disrupted.

Glyn, I lived in one of those derelict cottages you mentioned, until 1950. There was only four in total and I believe they were completely vacated by about 1952. The 'spout' you used was, at that time, our main supply of water, about 100 yards from the cottage. Oh happy days.
