Subject: Deployment

Well, my fiance` came home this past weekend for a 4 day pass. He's been in TX/New Mexico for about 2 1/2 months. It's been really tough. But, this past weekend was great. He was able to come back to a new home (yes, we bought a new home together) and we were able to spend the entire 4 days together. It was awesome spending that time with him. He's my world and we have a new life that is on hold until he returns from Iraq. He is being deployed on Friday. He is back in NM right now, but will be heading to Iraq Friday for 9 to 15 months. We're really not sure yet. Going by his orders, it should be 9 months. Going by the maximum amount of time he could spend over there, it's 15 months. So, we plan for 15 and hope for 9. This is THE HARDEST thing I've ever had to do in my life. This next year is going to be really rough. I kind of feel like I'm going to be on autopilot until he returns. Anyway, please pray that God will watch over Chris and his unit and will return them all back home safely.

Thanks and take care,
Brooke

[> Brooke, we'll definitely keep Chris in our prayers. I can't say the time will go fast, but it will move and soon you'll be together again. Congrats on your new home! You'll stay busy taking care of the house--and get vvery familiar with Lowe's and Home Depot! Please keep us updated on Chris. God bless. :-) -- Lynn, 10:49:56 09/03/07 Mon [1]

[> [> [> Hi Lynn. I'm hanging in there. Chris is doing fine. They're still in Kuwait waiting to go to Iraq. So far we've gotten to talk everyday either by phone or by yahoo messenger. But, once he gets to Iraq, it's unknown what access he will have. We know that there is internet and phones, it's just how many? Of course demand is high, but we're not sure how plentiful. So, we'll just have to wait and see. His birthday was Sept 11 and that was a rough day for me. He had an ok day watching movies and playing the Wii all day with his buddies! haha We're both doing ok...just missing each other terribly! -- Brooke, 19:16:15 09/13/07 Thu [1]

[> Ouch, Brooke I know this is going to be rough on you guys but I know you can do it. Phone/internet will just depend on where he is stationed in Iraq. My sister's ex managed to call her almost every day so it can be done. Phone usage was limited to either 30 minutes or an hour depending on how many people are waiting. I hope this helps a little and I'll be praying for you guys. -- Malia, 20:44:52 09/20/07 Thu [1]

[> [> Hi Malia. Yeah, so far we've been able to talk everyday. Not necessarily on the phone, but he has data coverage ONLY on his cell phone, so we use yahoo instant messenger to send IMs. If the line isn't crazy long, he'll stop in and use the phone. But mostly we talk by IM, but are able to stay in touch daily. It makes it a LOT easier. I don't know how either of us could make it without talking to each other everyday. Thanks for the prayers. :) -- Brooke, 16:23:19 09/22/07 Sat [1]
