Subject: I'm still here, too. Just napping in the corner recliner.
In reply to: Lynn 's message, "Hi Lizzie! Who's here? Let me check. Helloooooo? Hellooooooooo? Anyone here??? Evidently this place is empty. I think it might be about time to close up shop here at the Files. It's been a really good run, and I've met so many wonderful folks here over the years. I'm in and out of the forum lately--we moved to the Seattle area recently, and there's much to do yet. Dax & Melissa are getting married two months from tomorrow--October 28! Wow--it's coming fast! What have you been doing the last few years. Sounds like you're still in sunny CA. Time for an update from you! :-)" on 21:37:45 08/27/07 Mon

[> [> Yep, still in beautiful (and ridiculously hot and humid, seriously, it's east coast humid out here!) California. I've had a few jobs since moving here, but I've finally found a career with UPS. It's hard running a day care center for grown men and women (read my drivers). At 25, I'm finding the older I get the faster time goes. It still feels like yesterday that I was just barely touching ground in California at 20. Both of my parent's healths are failing. So between working full time and taking care of them, I do manage to find time to enjoy life. My friends defintely know how to make life interesting, we were at a LAN party last night, tonight it's the beach I think. I've grown up from the pop music to the punk rock princess as my friends call me. I drive an SUV now. I know I know. All this talk about Global warming and I go and buy an SUV. It gets 3x better gas mileage than my truck did though! (trying to justify it!). -- Liz, 22:17:14 09/02/07 Sun [1]

[> [> [> I heard from Chrystynne and Derlie not too long ago and they're both doing well. Casey's keeping busy with her now 4 year old son. I haven't heard from Nikki in a while, even though she's a friend on my myspace. AND for those of you who remember that I could type too fast for my own good, I still do, I also now use Lixxie as a screenname wherever I can. That part of this board has always remained with me. It stuck and I don't think I could be identified without it. Strange as that may sound. Has anyone heard from Mary K and Lauren lately? This board (as well as *N The Mix) always had an amazing comradre and chemistry between the members that I feel was unparalled with other boards. Even to this day. Point made: After being MIA for 5 years, ya'll remembered me. I'm including my email address so if and when this board shuts down, I won't be lost again. -- Liz, 22:17:47 09/02/07 Sun [1]

[> [> [> [> An update on Mary K. and Lauren ----> -- Mary K., 19:19:26 09/03/07 Mon [1]

Lauren is a senior (on the 5 year plan thanks to a transfer after freshman year) at the University of Missouri in Columbia. She is a non-fiction writing major with a minor in geography. Her goal is to be a travel writer. She is currently hoping to study in Prague next summer. She lives in Columbia year round in a great little house she rents with another girl. She spent the summer doing an internship. She was editing for a local publication company. She plans on going for her masters when she graduates. She was just home for the labor day weekend and it was great seeing her as she only gets home about 4 times a year.

My life has taken many twists and turns over the past two years. I moved to a new house two years ago and took a new job as an office manager for a financial planning firm. I love my job as I am always learning, always busy and most of the time it’s also fun. My oldest daughter got married last summer and I still have one daughter left at home. My daughter Karen is a sophomore in high school. We hosted a foreign exchange student from France for a month this summer. It was a fantastic experience. We are planning a trip to Paris and Vienna for two weeks next July which we are having a lot of fun planning.

That’s my story!

I still check in here to see what is going on with the other DaxFilers! It’s good to hear from some of the other old timers.
