She looked over at him out of the corner of her eye, noting that he seemed a little comfortable and for that touched her heart. He didn't have to come here, where he wasn't at ease but he did it to support her. Blinking back the moisture in her eyes, she was relieved when someone called her name and she stood up to head in, motioning for Rio to follow her - everyone there knew them as a couple. They made their way into one of the hallways that had someone on the other side of a counter - the records managers - and Jackie quietly asked if she could give them any information. She let the woman know the situation and then waited, glancing back at Rio, itching to take his hand. She let her eyes move around the office to distract herself until the woman spoke. "Oh...the Wilson's passed away about seven months ago...a car accident, poor things." Jackie's eyes widened a little, managing to stutter out a question asking what happened to the child, fearing the worst. Her knee's actually almost gave out on her with the sinking in her stomach. "The toddler was put in foster care." The woman informed them. For a second, Jackie couldn't breathe, she could hardly stand...all she could do was spin around, throwing herself into Rio's arms and burying her face into his chest as she tried to control her emotions.

Rio stood up just as quickly as Jackie did when they called her, following her down the hall and remaining quiet as she asked for information. He hated this place.... he'd been in and out of the system since he was a baby and these places didn't bring back anything but bad memories. His dark eyes turned to the woman as she informed them that the 'Wilsons' had passed away, and a frown instantly took residence on his features. These people were senseless. His arms enveloped Jackie and an angry scowl settled over his features, speaking to the receptionist "She should have been told- WeShould have been told... that was the agreement. We want to talk to the manager of this whole thing... Jackie gets to choose who her daughter belongs to- not you." (NT) -- Rio, 10:21:34 01/21/07 Sun
