She had known he would be sleeping by the time she had gotten out of the shower, so she had just let him be and tried to go on with the day, as down and dark as she was feeling about life in general. That afternoon had seen her out walking the boardwalk again - taking solace in the sweet families out for an afternoon in the sun and rowdy teenagers, probably not much young than her, but so much less flawed. She had come to the conclusion some time around six that evening that she was stuck in a horrible place and needed help to get out - but help seemed so impossible given her situation that that was as far as she had gotten.
