  • He cocked a brow as he heard someone rummaging in the kitchen and afer a few minutes the curiosity got to him. Standing up, he padded barefoot into the kitchen to see who was there - pleasantly surprised to see the little mouse who had been creeping around them all as if she was afraid of human contact. He pursed his lips, his voice soft as he leaned against the counter. "Ella, right?" He questioned, his voice a low rumble thanks to the sleep he had been drifting in and out of. • She squealed softly in surprise - so caught up in her own world that she hadn't really considered that someone else might be around and hadn't even heard him approach - and looked over her shoulder at him. Her dark gaze lingered for a long moment - a little squinty in the dim light - before she nodded and returned to her sandwich. "Hungry? I'm making a sandwich. Want one?" She had only officially met a few of the kids, and only really talked to one or two so far, but she pretty much knew who everyone was and was reasonably sure that his name was Kaden. • "Sure..." he murmured after she had already started making it, his brow furrowed a touch as he ventured farther into the dark kitchen, his eyes focused on hers. "I didn't think you ventured out where the people where." He stated seriously, shifting to lean against the counter, his arms crossed against his chest. Every few moments, she moved past him to put away an ingredient that she had already used, but she was thoroughly engaged in her task at hand. • "Hm. At my service." She repeated with gently pursed lips, glancing to him as she cut both sandwiches in diagonal halves and placed them on plates, sliding his towards him. "Next time I need jelly beans, or soda, I know who to ask." A small smirk touching her delicate, almost childlike features as she hoisted herself up to sit on the counter. "I must've mixed up my fairytales. My bad." She shrugged a little and finally allowed her eyes - so wide and bright - to settle on him for more than a lingering glance. She answered his question ambiguously with a casual shrug - she'd moved around a fair amount as a kid - and then tipped her head back a little, nose wrinkling in feigned embarassment. • He smirked at her sarcasm, that was a quality that was missing in a lot of girls. Those that he had been spending him time with lately were the average airhead teenage girls who laughed at everything and commented on his accent endlessly.
