She was almost making herself sick, the way she was talking to him - this wasn't her at all. She looked up, meeting his eyes for a moment - she was, to say the least, a little surprised that he still didn't recognize her but she had no idea - a lot of time had passed since they had seen one another, since they had been children - a lot of miles and a lot of stuff could have happened between then and now that would make him the same as her - blanking out the white.

She seemed a little off her rocker if you asked him but he didn't want to assume anything. You never assumed anything about anyone because thats when you got surprised and surprises were never any good. The young man had numerous scars on his body from being 'surprised'.
