 Soupy Sales (born Milton Supman) has died at age 83. I was never a fan, but lots of kids loved his show, including my brother. An interesting tidbit in his obituary: his was the only Jewish family in the North Carolina town where he lived, owned a dry-goods store, and sold sheets to the KKK. I suppose the Klan needed the sheets so badly that they didn't burn out the Supman family.
