That was a 1962 VW I owned and brought it brand new $1797. We went all over Gods creation with that little thing. Remember going to Albany for a cup of coffee. Riding all over the place in a snow storm. PlayLand Dover Drag Strip anywhere. Was with Mike Zurwin and we heard about the girls in Wildwood NJ...well it was a week before labor day and no one was there...went up to Freehold raceway walked with $15 and walked out with $350 and went to Florida the very next day yup in the bug....Found my VW on the sidewalk and got chewed out for that by the Eastchester cops...good little car...had to do 60 miles per hour in order to stay warm..oh year Paul Croeber came home and said he had another 48 all he had to do was check in and drove down to Baltimore and back all the same night...used to put $3.00 worth of gas in the tank...yup had lots of fun...
