Paul, I remember well those two bumps on the Bronx River Parkway! My dad used to speed up a little so we'd bounce in the back seat (no seat belts, of course) and we thought it was hilarious. My grandparents left Eastchester in the 1960's and moved to Brewster because the taxes were lower. We used to swim at Lake Tonetta. It was a sleepy little town with gravel roads. Their address was "Rural Route 4" on Larkspur Drive. Eastchester seemed like the Big City in comparison.
