Even though I have the entire set of "Twilight Zone" on DVD, it's still good to see it show up on TV.

Interesting. I was clicking between two marathons then...Zone on SyFy and Honeymooners on a local station. I noticed increased editing on both, and seems more every time. But, at least they are shown. Guess one must buy a series if less edits are desired.

Curious thing though, and thru all these years, decades even, it causes me to wonder..for some odd reason, I feel drawn to watch such gems on the TV moreso than I do on media such as a dvd. Odd, in spite of commercials, there's just something to me about watching an old favorite transmitted. ???? Never figured out why this is, but for me, it is....or hmm, maybe I'm in the Twilight Zone.

The editing gets worse every year on cable channels like TV Land and Syfy. Lines of dialogue and sometimes entire scenes are cut from shows to sell more and more commercials.

I too am drawn to the transmitted programs, Officer Torch, despite the cuts. Part of the attraction may be the tribal nature of viewing broadcast television, knowing that other Twilight Zone or Honeymooners fans are watching the same shows at the same time you are. Or it could simply be the convenience of not having to locate and load a DVD.

Lately I have been a big booster of MeTV, not just because of their nostalgic program lineup, but because they have far less cuts (maybe none) and far fewer commercials. Earlier this evening they aired The Twilight Zone "The Purple Testament", and I didn't notice any cuts.

Don't worry if you are in The Twilight Zone, Torch, I am there too!
