grey wolf flies from stag as he topples, his failing grip finally letting go, aware of the danger, and his wounds, he rushes for the main vein while the massive enemy has fallen, ivory teeth finally cimson as it is cut, the blood washing out onto the snow, a lake of ruby, he drops his head to lick it, then collapses in a heap onto the puddle, the red staining his fur, vision blurring again, he closes his eyes...
