Subject: WV AUTUMN FESTIVAL PAGEANT SEEKING CONTESTANTS

On Saturday October 11th, Megan Reed, the wonderfully intelligent and beautiful Queen that has represented us so well be giving up her title to another young lady.
The WV Autumn Festival is currently seeking candidates (must be at least 16 and not have turned 21 before Jan. 1, 2009 and meet all other WVAFF criteria)for this position. The entry fee is only $100 plus a Gift Basket to be placed in our two day Silent Auction.
The young woman chosen to be Queen will represent the WV Autumn Festival at the WVAFF in Charleston come Jan. 2009. She will receive a gorgeous crown/tiara, two embroidered sashes with one for Charleston by Jessie Marsh and an extra one for appearances so the other one doesn't get dirty, a trophy/plaque or glass slipper (an awesome gift), a gift basket of various items (this is worked on up until pageant day), a minimum cash award of $300.00 (at the end of her reign provided she has fulfilled her contract completely), gift certificates, flowers, entry fee to Charleston to the WVAFF pageant, one ticket for a parent/chaperone, three nights at the Marriott, dinner in Charleston and possibly more.
Our reigning Teen, the lovely and talented Aly Carpenter will also be giving up her title to a new Teen contestant(ages at least 13, not yet 16 and meet all the criteria on our website). The entry fee is only $75.00 and a Gift Basket for the Silent Auction and the winner receives a crown/tiara, plaque/trophy/glass slipper, embroidered sash, flowers. gift bag(will grow up until the pageant), ticket to WVAFF in Jan (only if you plan to go),and a cash award of at least $50.00 at the end of her reign(as long as she has fulfilled all of her duties).
Jennifer (Bennett)Oldaker, our intelligent and beautiful Mrs. will give up her title too. The entry fee is only $100.00 plus a Gift Basket for the Silent Auction and the winner receives a Trophy/Plaque, Crown/Tiara, Embroidered Sash, Flowers, ticket to WVAFF (only if you plan to go), Gift Bag (will grow up until pageant day), CASH AWARD* (*if we have at least three contestants the winner will receive a minimum of $75.00 at the end of her reign).
Our MS.DIVISION will be only $100.00 and a Gift Basket and the winner receives the same awards as the Mrs. with the same stipulations.

The Gift Baskets must have a value of at least $20.00 and if you email us in advance we will create a card with a basket title stating it is sponsored by the contestant with her name and number, the items inside and value of the basket. See our website for basket suggestions.
CATEGORIES of COMPETITION will be Personal Interview (casual this year with a TSHIRT provided by us and either blue jeans, blue jean shorts or blue jean skirt), Personal Introduction (a 30 second Introduction about yourself,like event promo at WVAFF (and you will wear something nostalgic or vintage with a sixties or seventies theme like mini dresses or skirts, hotpants, sizzlers, tie dye, maxi's, etc.), you will also walk the runway to themed music before and after your presentation . The other area of competition will be Evening Gown with the theme Somewhere Over The Rainbow. Onstage questions will be at the end of evenign gown with all ladies onstage one at a time.
Our FESTIVAL will also be going on at the same time. During the weekend we will have on display the entries for the Writing Competiton (all ages from 3 and up), same for the Art Competition, A Costume Contest for children (Character themed for storybooks, movies and/or celebrity), Storybook themed reading areas, crafting areas for kids, some games, White Elephant vendors,craft sales and for the third year we will feature our most successful venture WV's Most Talented Kids and the WV Karaoke Championship. CASH AWARDS and trophies, as well as peoples choice awards for all of these.

The childrens pageant will be held Saturday October 11th in the morning while the Teens, Misses, Mrs. and Ms. contestants are interviewing.
Winners will be announced in the mid afternoon prior to the Personal Introduction phase of the competition for older girls.
Festival activities will be going on throughout the day and evening on the 11th and 12th including the Silent Auction so there will be things to do.
Entry fee for the childrens pageant is only $50.00 and there is one category titled "Back in Time (60's or 70's Wear) and great awards.
SCORESHEETS will be passed out with comments and because we do a circle system comment sheets only will be passed out to the four oldest groups(Teen, Miss, Ms and Mrs). There will be no viewing of the MASTER as I consulted an attorney and presenting the MASTER for all could create problems.
Make plans now to enter one or more of the competitions and/or the pageant, or do it all.
Chidlrens age groups are Under 1, Age 1, Age 2, 3-4 years, 5-6 years, 7-9 years, and 10-12 years for girls, for boys its age 2 and under, 3 to 5, 6 to 9. We reserve the right to combine age groups if there are not at least three per group.
We are not responsible for errors, typing mistakes, accidents, illnesses, injuries, or losses incurred as a result of, before, during or after the event(s).
DEADLINES will be announced soon and IF A QUEEN CONTESTANT WINS ANOTHER WVAFF TITLE BEFORE OUR EVENT WE WILL REFUND ANY MONEY SHE HAS PAID.
October 12th will also feature in addition to the games and displays of competition worship, gospel music, and the announcement of auction winners, writing winners, art winners, great pumpkin winners, and more.
The night of Saturday October 11th will feature the Queens Dance, which will include a variety of music and dancing.
