If Ben was shot in the past, the purge may not happen at all. That changes everything regarding Dharma.

Sayid must think he's going to Hell now. Killing a kid is such an unforgiven sin.

Lost, uisng the time-travel plot device, made Sayid answer the infamous clich� question: "Would you kill Hitler if you could meet him before he grew up into a monster?"

Of course given the flashbacks, and the parallels between Ben's childhood and Sayid's, it's actually himself, the monster in him, that Sayid tried to destroy. So the characters study goes on....

I do wonder if Sayid will be able to get over the guilt of killing a child, even knowing it is Ben.
