Subject: Luke, chapter 4, verses 24-30

They were the passages Ricardo was reading when the 'priest' came to give him 'comfort.'

24: And he said Verily I say unto you , No prophet is accepted in his own country.

25: But I tell you of a truth, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elias, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, when great famine was throughout all the land;

26: But unto none of them was Elias sent save unto Sarepta, a city of Sidon, unto a woman that was a widow.

27: And many lepers were in Israel in the time of Eliseus the prophet; and none of them was cleansed saving Naaman the Syrian.

28: And all they in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with wrath,

29: And rose up and thrust him out of the city, and led him unto the brow of the hill whereon their city was built that they might cast him down headlong

30: But he passing through the midst of them went his way

So what does this have to do with LOST?

3 years and 6 months, the drought of Elias (Elijah) to condemn Israel's sin of acceptance of Baal, is this also the story time of LOST from the flight of Oceanic 815 to whatever end we come to?

Then is Ricardo representative of the prophet Elias (Elijah)? If so, then he is of the tribe of Aaron.

Then does he cleanse someone of their sin (leperosy)? Then who is representative of Naaman the Syrian? Sayid?

And finally will Ricardo as Elias be borne unto heaven by a fiery chariot? The jet?

Got me!

Elijah (Elias) was fleeing Ahab and Jezebel after he had the priests/prophets of Baal killed after they failed to have their sacrifice set afire by praying to Baal. He went to a cave on Mt Horeb.

Then the god asks Elijah (1 Kings 19:9): "What doest thou here, Elijah?". Elijah did not give a direct answer to the god's question but evades and equivocates, implying that the work his god had begun centuries earlier had now come to nothing, and that his own work was fruitless.

Sounds like Ricardo in that last ep.....
