I went to see Harvey, a very brief flame, in my more current life. Harvey, also my Realator, sold my house in my old hometown. He was nice enough to set a Saturday closing so I could easily make it.
Albert came with with me. He did not attend the closing although I'm sure Harvey would not mind. This sets me up to close out my days in the town I loved after one year of college there.
I won't close out my days in the dusty town I grew up in and the town I spent some 40 years of married life and where my children were raised.
My daughters are an hours from my new location. My sons are in the much less Dusty old town having taken over their father's business. On the way back, Albert proposed to me but I told him I did not want to think about marriage until my final baby is married.
Michelle is 33 as is her fiancee. More than that, H.C.is the son of the guy I went with for a few months when I came to this college. My Dreamboat taught me to smoke but wanted to go the whole 9 yards. I didn't go the whole 9 yards but he found Rachel who took up smoking and the whole bit.
But Rachel is a very nice person. She's a 2 pack a day smoker but shows little wear for smoking 44 years. We're on the same team now, shooting for a good wedding for our children.
There's a little more irony in that my second son named his first daughter Rachel. At the time, I never expected to see this woman again.
There's a little more irony. Rachel, 14, also smokes. So does her sister Brittany, only 13. I'd have to say their mother's combination of social, party, stress and occassional smoking has led to regular smoking now. She is 36. Holly, the other daughter-in-law is 40 and did smoke at the Saturday night celebration of the sale.
