In reply to: Megan 's message, "Please tell us about your smoking Thursday" on 07:05:36 09/07/06 Thu

Megan, Megan, Megan. You want smoke passing through your lungs while viewing the act with clear and smoke free glasses. You want to give your husband what you guys are calling "Happy Pants" based on what lured him in when you both were much younger. The real world asks "what have you done for me lately."
Your daughters seem successful enough to not need to smoke to be popular. They are not marginal quality. I accept that they are lookers who can elect to smoke but don't need to smoke.
When my twin daughters took up smoking at the age of 14, they pulled out of all the sports except softball. They were exceptional soccer players. Now 16, coaches still want them to play soccer, saying they can use them in special situations where they won't have to run much. Actually they have not given up smoking but getting into shape.
You allude to the fact that coaches wear rose colored glasses when it comes to good players violating team rules.
I missed my wife's smoking and it was at a slightly more serious stage than yours. My wife did not gain weight when she quit smoking. You have mentioned that in the past.
You also used that very crude term that your 10-year-old son's "cods have not dropped." It's term usually associated with young calves. Sorry to tell you but the interest your son is showing is that he is aroused by a woman smoking. This is not your fault.
My oldest son grew up fast. After going with high school girls considered rather fast in high school, he is in college going with a girl who seems very sweet. He seems to think a wedding should still be significant and not just a break in the action to make things legal.
I have one final child, a boy in the 7th grade. He's not the star like Susan's 7th grade son. He blushes when girls talk to him. He may get blisters on his butt but he is into football. A girl like you describe Lisa would send him under the blanket.
Maybe you could sneak off and smoke for your husband without telling the girls until they become totally dedicated to sports. Sounds like the students are less dedicated to proper training for sports but that goes back to coaches willing to accept talent whether it comes with a cigarette or not.
As soon as I can, I want to talk about quitting smoking and weigh gain and that cigar smoking leads to smoking cigarettes more than it allows a young lady to enter an exclusive group which includes mainly men.
