Hi!
A good place to start looking would be www.petsmart.com or try going to yahoo and look up 'guppies+diseases'.
It also sounds like your fish may have ick (or ich). Go to your local pet store and pick up something that will cure ick (the bottles will tell you what and how much to use). Plus, you can dim the light, add some aquarium salt (1 tablespoon per 10 gallons of water), and increase the temperature of your tank to about 85 degrees for a short amount of time. Ick is a fungus (I think) that cannot grow without light or in warm water. If you don't have a heater on your tank, get a self adhesive thermometer and check the temp of your water. I had the same problem, and as soon as I followed the course of action I described, it went away and I haven't had the problem since.
Good Luck!
Jenn
