I have seen many black mollies breed very successfully in my tanks. Size is not an issue in male/female interactions as long as all are sufficiently mature. Females have a shorter top (dorsal) fin and three fins they can extend below. Males have a long dorsal fin which they will raise to look big and intimidating, and their fins below look more sharp and pointy. If your black mollies are bulging, they may give birth soon. I have seen this occurring, and have found that aquarium gravel of a coarse size, and numerous plants with small blades, such as floating moss or even artificial breeding grass, gives the babies time to hide while they develop self confidence. After that, they swim around in the tank with the big ones. Crush the fish food into some medium and some tiny crumbs, so the big fish can't eat it all, and some floats down for the little fish to eat. Good luck!
