It could be your tank is in direct sun light or if its a new tank and you have put plants in it then that could be the corse. To get rid of it I would do weekly water changes, you could get tonics to take the algae out and if you have room you could buy a algae eating fish. I suggest a plec, they work great, I have one in my tank......
