Subject: God's Debris
So I'm reading God's Debris by Scott Adams (of Dilbert fame). Anyone else read it? It's a free e-book, supposedly a bit of a headfuck. Some of you guys might enjoy it, especially Twan (you'll understand when you read the introduction!). Here's a snippet, just for shits & giggles:
“Has anyone ever advised you to ‘be yourself’?”
I said I’d heard that a lot.
“What does it mean to be yourself?” he asked. “If it means to do what you think you ought to do, then you’re doing that already. If it means to act like you’re exempt from society’s influence, that’s the worst advice in the world; you would probably stop bathing and wearing clothes.
The advice to ‘be yourself’ is obviously nonsense. But our brains accept this tripe as wisdom because it is more comfortable to believe we have a strategy for life than to believe we have no idea how to behave.”

That's freakin' brilliant. How do I get the book or where do I find it. It's a free e-book?

Thanks, and I'm sorry I'm such an idiot. I should have just googled.
I blame tg.
I have downloaded it, and I shall commence reading it shortly. I think I might have to print it out and take it home, 'cause I've been too busy at work lately to read it on my compooooter. (He types as he's supposed to be typing something else for the boss. In fact, he can see the half typed Word document right behind this browser window. Yep, he is a loser. Indeed.)

Be yourself it's all that you can do. LOL.
I want to read that too. Calling someone fake never made sense to me because if they're acting fake, then they are fake, right? Or if you're trying to be something you're not, aren't you still you? Does anyone really have a choice? You can change you, but you're still and have always been you....
That could give someone a headache.
